I do have to thank the both of you ... riding with you on Knoxville gave me the confidence I needed to ride with Donald for at least half of the ride. Of course, seeing Dante at the rest stop, a little after I arrived certainly helped with my sanity.

I envy you, and plan to do the same thing you did in 2011.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12029978.post-88452852632027587932010-10-11T15:51:06.242-07:002010-10-11T15:51:06.242-07:00Congrats to Curtis and Daniel. I almost packed it in on the big climb, but I caught a second wind and found a way to make it work.

I enjoyed riding with you and Dan for as long as I could hang on.

The highlight of the day had to be the returning descent to Powerhouse. Disney never had an "F ticket" ride, but if they did, that's what it would have been like. Speeds up to 55 mph, no pedaling, as little braking as possible, and the bike handled like a dream (thanks Cannondale!)

Congrats on joining the "thousand mile club"!

PS - I will be trading my 11/23 cassette in for an 11/28 real soon now.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12029978.post-76861897767129350752010-10-11T07:56:54.228-07:002010-10-11T07:56:54.228-07:00Agreed about the water at Auberry . . . Route markings though, no problem for me (but this is my 3rd Bass Lake double, so that helped). I rode into the final checkpoint in the last of the daylight, rode out in the (mostly) dark. Great job by the Fresno club!
