50+ Jersey FAQ

We get so many questions about the 50+ jerseys I thought I'd create a page just for them. When you're finished, check my blog that this static page is a part of, just because it's so cool

Q: Is this some Bike Forums official thing?
A: Nope. I'm just another 50+ forum member who thought we should have a jersey. Fellow forum member Bill (qcpmsame) took over the ordering a while back. Yea Bill!

Q: How do I order?
A: An order get's put together when life gives us time and we get around to it. Watch for an announcement in the 50+ forum on Bikeforums.net . There will be complete directions there.

Q: Can I order now?
A: They are not made made in advance. Money get's collected, then the order is placed. So unless there is a current order thread on Bikeforums.net 50+ forum you'll have to wait.

Q: How did this start?
A: A few years ago a NorCal forum member designed jerseys for them and I thought it was cool. I designed a jersey for the 50+ forum and had it made. People trusted me enough to send me money in advance and I had the jerseys made and mailed them out.

Q: Shouldn't there be some sort of vote on the design?
A: It's hard for me not to be snarky… Do you vote on all the designs of your clothing? Really, if you like it, buy it. If you don't, take a pass. Or, make your own jersey!

Q: Will you make a 60+, or 70+ or whatever jersey?
A: I don't plan to. For me, the jersey is more about the forum and community here than some specific age. Again, I encourage you to design your own.

Q: Can you just change (insert request here)?
A: No. Even the smallest of changes, the most tiny thing imaginable, starts the process over with new minimums and a proof approval cycle. Plus, I admit I'm rather amused that there are over 200 of these out in the wild and they all match, so I don't even want to change it!

Q: Are you getting rich or what?
A: I'm an artist, teacher and bike rider. I'm not a business man. My goal is to not lose money. I've sometimes managed, sometimes not. The rich part, not at all. Qcpmsame is in the same boat. He does this because he's a generous guy. Do us all a favor and don't rile him, OK?

Q: How long does it take?
A: This process takes longer than you think, waiting for orders, having them made, getting them shipped. Don't expect this to be like a real store. Like over 6 weeks after I order to get them to send out.

Q: How much does it cost? (Prices will go up if my costs do)
A: I'll post specific info when I set up the order, but last time prices were:

Q: Who makes this stuff?
A: Champion Systems

Q: Can you help with sizing?
A: Not much. Search the threads on Bike Forums 50+. But I can tell you they come in sizes from extra small to 4XL, in mens and womens. Here's what I do know: Race Cut. They mean it. If you are a rail thin racer, you might need this. If you aren't sure, just get the club cut.
I find them similar to Voler, maybe ever so slightly tighter.

Q: Do I have to use PayPal?
A: Sorry, but yes. This is headache enough without trying to deal with checks, and the potential problems they could create . Really, it's PayPal that makes this effort feasible.

I've bought a lot, and also used it to collect money for lots and lots of jerseys without any problems, but I know some folks haven't had the same experience.

Maybe you can find someone with an account who will send money for you.

Q: What if my question isn't answered here?
A: PM me, or Bill on Bikeforums at cccorlew for me, designer, or Bill at qcpmsamefor distribution purchase questions. We'll try to answer, and add it to this FAQ.

Q: Got some photos?
A: Here you go. Click them to see larger versions.
